Attendance
Good school attendance gives your child the opportunity of success and helps develop skills for life.
Every child of school age has the right to a good, full-time education that meets their needs, abilities, and any special educational requirements. Parents are legally responsible for ensuring their child gets this education, either by sending them to school or through other suitable arrangements outside of school.
Where parents choose to register their child in a school, they also have a legal duty to make sure their child goes to school regularly. This means your child must attend every school day unless there’s a valid reason, like being sick or having permission from the school for an approved absence.
Wick Primary school has a continuing responsibility to proactively manage and improve attendance across their school community of which our approach is clearly set out in the school attendance policy found below and additional information can be found on the South Glos website linked.
